PED 4430 Pediatric Cardiology
This is an excellent familiarization rotation for future Pediatric, Emergency Medicine, Obstetrics, Family Practice, or other specialty residents who WILL encounter patients with these diagnoses in the hospital or deployed setting. Enhanced familiarity with these diagnoses and the evaluative techniques can make you more comfortable with caring for these patients. There are approximately one million adults with congenital heart disease (CHD), with 20,000 new patients reaching adolescence each year. With a 90% survival rate these numbers will continue to rise, so adult caregivers will see the downstream effects of these “Pediatric” pathologies. See how to schedule this rotation on the Pediatric ACR Intranet Page.
