MLTS 1307 Hematological Tests and Analysis I
This course covers the practical execution, analytical principles, and quality assurance frameworks of routine hematological testing. Students examine the components of a complete blood count (CBC), the operational mechanics of automated hematology analyzers, and the diagnostic evaluation of peripheral blood smears. Laboratory instruction focuses on specimen preparation, automated testing execution, manual differential counts, and morphological identification of normal and abnormal blood cells while applying strict quality control, calibration, and pre-analytical error mitigation protocols.
