MED 3107 Pulmonary Selective
The pulmonary selective occurs over four weeks, exposing students to a broad range of pulmonary pathologies. Students will be exposed to a combination of acute and chronic diseases in the inpatient and outpatient settings. Students will administer and interpret pulmonary function tests. They will have an opportunity to review Chest imaging and develop an approach to analyzing chest x-rays and CT scans and determine when further imaging is recommended. Students will also have opportunities to observe bronchoscopy and thoracentesis. If students desire, they may also have options to rotate through the intensive care unit. Students will present a pulmonary disease topic of their choice to the staff at the end of the rotation.
