NURS 6222 Practicum for CNS Practice I: Advanced Concepts for CNS Independent Practice

This course is an introduction to advanced concepts supporting independent clinical practice in the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) role. Students gain competencies designed to support all domains of the CNS role and those needed to support the Military Health System (MHS) Quadruple Aim. Students complete clinical rotations developed to support each role of the CNS, focusing on improved outcomes and risk reduction strategies for adult and geriatric patients. Course content is directed to advance the skills necessary to function in increasingly complex healthcare settings; improve patient safety, quality, and outcomes; enhance the delivery of evidence-based care; collaborate within disciplines and healthcare teams; and improve the business side of healthcare.
