MPO 513 Physiological Basis of Behavior
This course is intended to provide an introduction to physiological principles underlying health and disease. Included will be discussion of the structure and function of the nervous system and physiological mechanisms underlying psychological linkages with the cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, renal, and immunologic systems. Also, psychoendocrinological function will be considered. The interrelationship of these specific subsystems to general physiological functioning will also be explored. By the end of the course attendees will be able to understand the physiological principles underlying health and disease.
