NURS 5404 Operational Readiness: Critical Care Air Transport Team (CCATT)
This Course aims to enhance student knowledge in providing critical care during aeromedical evacuation as part of a multidisciplinary team. The 10-day course at USAFSAM prepares AD, ANG, or AFRC personnel for wartime and peacetime missions. Students learn AE doctrine, altitude physiology, aircraft familiarization, and critical care transport concepts. The course includes high-fidelity simulations, building on prior knowledge and exploring new concepts in patient care and AE system-level concerns. Students gain readiness aligned with Federal/Military Health System needs, expanding clinical skills and inter-professional teamwork for future austere, deployed, or humanitarian settings.
