COMF 715 Endodontics 1

The endodontic portion of the 2-year residency program consists of didactic and clinical instruction in basic biologic principles of root canal therapy. including diagnosis, treatment planning, non-surgical root canal therapy, retreatment, and apical surgery. 1st year residents engage in lectures and hands-on laboratory sessions to introduce and refine clinical techniques. Following the initial academic courses, residents participate in weekly clinic sessions dedicated to endodontics and manage daytime and after-hours endodontic emergencies. Residents are also exposed to an oral exam, and participate in at least two formal case presentation sessions to defend and justify their clinical treatment decisions and procedures.
