HCB 2303 Systems-Based Trauma and Medical Emergencies

This course trains military and pre-hospital healthcare providers to assess, diagnose, and treat a broad spectrum of medical conditions and traumatic injuries across key body systems in operational and clinical settings. Students will evaluate HEENT (Head, Eyes, Ears, Nose, and Throat) disorders and manage Neurology emergencies, focusing on traumatic brain injuries and altered mental status. The curriculum also covers the management of internal medical GI/GU Disorders (Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary) alongside the stabilization of acute Abdominal Injuries and complex Musculoskeletal Injuries, ensuring corpsmen can effectively treat systemic illness and orthopedic trauma.
