MLTS 1309 Urinalysis and Body Fluids Testing
This course covers the physical, chemical, and microscopic analysis of urine and non-blood body fluids in the clinical laboratory. Students explore renal physiology, specimen collection and preservation, reagent strip chemical testing, and microscopic evaluation of urinary sediment. Additionally, the course examines the physiological formation, diagnostic parameters, and cellular analysis of body fluids, including cerebrospinal (CSF), synovial, serous, semen, and amniotic fluids, while applying strict quality control, pre-analytical error controls, and biosafety protocols.
