From psychosocial, cognitive, behavioral, developmental, and systems theoretical frameworks, students will examine the formation, maintenance, and dysfunction of intimate dyadic relationships between adults. Previously learned knowledge of human behavior is built upon for elaborating on the conceptual, methodological, and clinical aspects of couples’ therapy. Readings and class discussions will include case examples to illustrate theoretical considerations, assessment, and specific interventions used in couples’ therapy.
