NURS 5134 Healthcare Informatics
In this course, students learn about the role of healthcare informaticists and the information systems used in healthcare, including Electronic Health Records (EHRs), telemedicine, and clinical decision-making tools. Special emphasis is placed on the tools and unique issues in the Military Healthcare System (MHS) to include ethical considerations, laws, and policies governing healthcare information systems. Students will also gain knowledge of strategies for using and evaluating information for health promotion, disease prevention, and tracking.
