DLBT 2209 Essential Skills for Dental Laboratory Practice

This course is designed to provide fundamental didactic and practical engagement in the administrative and technical support tasks essential for a Dental Laboratory Basic Technician to operate with limited assistance. The curriculum covers core administrative duties, including compliance with safety practices, equipment maintenance, precious metals management, and data entry. The course concludes by exposing students to the digital revolution in restorative dentistry via Computer-Aided Design/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology options. Students will gain an understanding of various digital workflows that offer restorative solutions with greater accuracy, efficiency, and a more predictable outcome.
