DLBT 3707 Advanced Maxillofacial Implant Protheses

This advanced course covers the digital engineering and metallurgical fabrication of high-load implant structures and neurosurgical reconstructions. Students will master computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) workflows to engineer cranial implant prostheses, custom overcastings, and milled titanium implant retention bars. Laboratory modules focus on achieving a micrometer-level passive fit for edentulous bone-anchored fixed bridges, managing casting expansion, and utilizing advanced soldering and welding parameters to join complex implant frameworks without inducing metallurgical distortion.
