SUR 4400 General Surgery
The purpose of this elective rotation is to provide experience in the practice of general surgery in both the inpatient and outpatient environment. Students will gain experience with the evaluation, medical, and surgical management of both common and complex problems in the practice of general surgery. Rotating students participate as members of a general surgical team, providing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency surgical care. The goal of this course is to prepare both students interested in general surgery and primary care with the opportunity to experience the specialty in preparation for internship and residency.
