SUR 4410 General Surgery Sub-Internship
The purpose of this sub-internship rotation is to provide an immersive experience in the practice of general surgery in both the inpatient and outpatient environment. Students will gain experience with the evaluation, medical, and surgical management of both common and complex problems in the practice of general surgery. Sub-interns will be expected to participate in the care of their patients at the intern level, including a requirement for in-house call at the frequency of the most junior resident on the service. The goal of this course is to prepare both students interested in general surgery and primary care with the opportunity to experience the specialty in preparation for internship and residency.
