SUR 4480 Renal Transplantation Rotations
The purpose of this elective rotation is to gain experience in the practice of renal transplantation. Students will primarily rotate with the surgical team, but have the opportunity to participate as members of a multidisciplinary patient care team, additionally including nephrologists, transplant nurses, social workers, dialysis nurses, and immunologists. The rotation includes exposure to transplantation immunology, histocompatibility, and immuno-suppression, as well as transplant harvest and surgical transplantation.
