PSY 4345 Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Elective

Students learn about providing psychiatric care in a Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient (IOP)/Partial Hospitalization Program.  They will perform initial intake assessments, obtain collateral information, and participate in group, individual, and team assessments and therapy, devise management plans, and follow ongoing treatment progress under indirect faculty supervision. This rotation emphasizes modes of assessment, intervention, psychotherapy and pharmacology. Trauma-focused programs are also available. 4th year students will be given more responsibility and independence than students on a clerkship-level rotation at this site.

Prep: successful completion of the Clerkship-level rotation
