Health Professions Education Certificates
HPE certificate programs are primarily designed for individuals who hold or are planning to hold academic leadership careers in the health professions (medicine, dentistry, nursing, and other allied health professions (like psychology or physical therapy) within the uniformed services, although the content is also relevant to all individuals engaged in the education of health professionals. HPE certificates are targeted for core clinical and basic science teachers and directors of courses, clerkships, residencies, and fellowships, as well as vice chairs, chairs, and other administrative leaders in HPE (e.g., deans and research directors).
CHPE offers three certificates: the I-FHPE (Introduction to Foundations in Health Professions Education), the FHPE (Foundations in Health Professions Education), and the A-FHPE (Advanced Foundations in Health Profession Education). These certificates are meant for individuals who wish to enhance their skills in leadership, research, and teaching. It is a stepping-stone towards our degree programs in HPE.
Advanced Foundations in HPE Certificate Requirements
Those who complete all coursework requirements for the MHPE or MEd, but do not complete the thesis, will be awarded the Advanced Foundations of Health Professions Education Graduate Certificate.
