NURS 7805 DNP-Clinical Practicum and Seminar for Nurse Anesthesia Practice V

This clinical course is a continuation of advanced clinical nurse anesthesia administration in which the Nurse Anesthesia Resident (NAR) is demonstrating greater autonomy in the administration of anesthesia. The NARs develop and utilize practical clinical applications of nurse anesthesia theory. There are continued rotations in specialty areas with greater exposure to complex patients and emphasis on exhibiting independence with advanced monitoring techniques, use of pharmacological agents, and handling higher stress situations. Mastery of clinical competence is evaluated by overall daily performance that demonstrates progression towards independence in providing safe and effective practices throughout the perioperative domain. The didactic review for this semester will focus on Kidney, Liver, Endocrine, as well as a broad variety of miscellaneous topics in preparation for the SEE exam.
