DNTA 1402 Dental Assisting Concepts
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the essential clinical skills and theoretical knowledge required for a career in dental assisting. Students will bridge the gap between science and practice by exploring the fundamentals of microbiology, pharmacology, and dental materials. A significant portion of the curriculum is dedicated to Infection Prevention and Control. Students will master the protocols for maintaining a sterile environment, including the operation of sterilization equipment, Dental Treatment Room (DTR) maintenance, and the rigorous workflows of the Central Instrument Processing Center (CIPC). By the end of this course, students will be prepared to manage clinical environments safely and sit for the Infection Control (ICE) component of the DANB® exam.
