DNTA 1453 Dental Assisting Applications

This course provides a comprehensive overview of dental instruments and specialized assisting techniques, preparing students for diverse roles within the dental field. Students will gain a fundamental understanding of basic dental instruments and delve into the specifics of dental specialty assisting, including the identification and use of dental specialty instruments. The curriculum covers essential facts about assisting providers in various dental specialty procedures. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to oral hygiene, encompassing basic facts, terminology, and effective strategies for patient motivation. Students will master step-by-step procedures for providing patient instructions on oral hygiene techniques and devices. Additionally, the course will address oral injuries and provide practical, step-by-step training in four-handed dentistry concepts to optimize chairside efficiency.
