FKA 111 Dental Implantology
This course is designed to give the resident the knowledge and skills to proficiently treatment plan, place and restore single posterior implants. Specialists in periodontics and prosthodontics provide lectures designed to impart practical information on terminology, diagnostic methods, treatment planning, surgical considerations, and restorative considerations as they relate to dental implants. This also includes two hands-on laboratory exercises so that students can become familiar with surgical and restorative procedures. Throughout the six trimesters, residents will participate in monthly implant treatment planning seminars. Each resident will present their proposed treatment plan for placing and restoring single posterior implants for their patients for approval. Once their treatment plan is approved, each resident is expected to execute the treatment.
