NURS 5122 Advanced Pharmacology
This graduate level pharmacology course builds on knowledge learned in undergraduate curriculum and from experiences with medications at the bedside to prepare students to administer pharmacologic agents safely in their advanced practice nursing roles. Content includes pharmacologic management across the care continuum, polypharmacy, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and biochemical pathways. A strong emphasis is placed on health promotion and disease prevention, and students are asked to integrate pharmacological principles with legal and ethical guidelines to plan safe and effective pharmacotherapy for individuals with acute and chronic conditions across various clinical environments, including operational and humanitarian settings.
