HCB 1102 Hospital Corpsman Fundamentals
This course provides foundational knowledge and skills for aspiring Hospital Corpsmen. Students will begin with an orientation to the program and the healthcare environment, emphasizing effective communication skills and the importance of maintaining patient privacy. The course also covers essential health record management practices. A significant portion of the course is dedicated to building a strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology, including basic medical terminology, cell and tissue functions, and the components and functions of the skeletal, musculoskeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, nervous, integumentary, digestive, endocrine, urinary, and reproductive systems. The course concludes with an overview of human reproduction and basic facts related to nutrition and waste elimination.
