NURS 6131 CNS Role Application Across the 3 Spheres of Influence
This course introduces students to the full scope of Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) practice and engages in systems thinking across the three spheres of impact (patient, nurse, and organization/system). This course equips students with the knowledge and skills to function in each CNS role: consultant, educator, manager, researcher/evidence-based scholar, and clinician throughout the perioperative continuum of care. Students integrate and apply previous and concurrent coursework as they conduct comprehensive, surgically focused exams, educate patients and other healthcare professionals, review and analyze regulatory and practice guidelines, and develop collaborative patient and professional partnerships.
