NURS 6212 Advanced Diagnosis and Management in Adult-Geriatric Acute Care
This course builds upon the foundations of CNS practice. The course integrates advanced health assessment, pathophysiology, and pharmacology knowledge to diagnose and manage acute health conditions in Adult/Gerontology patients. Students will develop and expand competencies related to history taking, physical assessment, differential diagnosis formulation, and creation and implementation of plans of care for the Adult/Gerontology patient population. Students are challenged to think critically. Their synthesis ability will be as they analyze assessment data supporting diagnosis and management plans for clinical problems amenable to CNS interventions using literature supporting evidence synthesis and clinical guidelines/care pathways. Within the context of the clinical activities, students will be exposed to patients in various high-acuity specialty areas.
