NURS 6622 Military Contingency Medicine/Operation Bushmaster
Military Contingency Medicine is a course for students preparing for battlefield trauma care and health service support in operational scenarios. The course covers team leadership, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, forward resuscitative care, patient movement, force health protection, preventive medicine, health surveillance, risk management, and combat & operational stress control. Operation Bushmaster is a simulated deployment to a developing country where students demonstrate their medical and leadership skills by creating and maintaining a Role-1 medical facility and managing the medical care of simulated patients during operational scenarios.
This course is conducted in close collaboration with the USU Department of Military & Emergency Medicine.
