SUR 4550 Ophthalmology
The purpose of this rotation is to gain a more in-depth ophthalmic experience with hands-on training in exam and diagnostic techniques, such as external eye exam, ocular motility, visual acuity, peripheral visual field, intraocular pressure, neuro-ophthalmic exam, slit lamp exam, and ophthalmoscopy. Exposure to ophthalmic surgical cases, such as cataract, strabismus, retina, and LASIK, as well as to a wide variety of ocular pathology and trauma will be offered. Rotation may include taking call with residents for experience in ophthalmic care after hours. Can be used as an audition rotation or to gain additional experience for fields that require some knowledge of eye care.
