SUR 4710 Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) Sub-Internship
The purpose of this sub-internship rotation is to provide an immersive experience in the practice of critical care of both pre- and post-operative surgical patients in the intensive care unit environment. Sub-interns will be expected to participate in the care of their patients at the intern level, including a requirement for call at the frequency of the most junior resident on the service. The goal of this course is to prepare both students interested in both surgery and primary care with the opportunity to experience the specialty in preparation for internship and residency.
