SUR 4650 Orthopedic Surgery Sub-Internship
The purpose of this sub-internship rotation is to provide an immersive experience with the practice of orthopedic surgery in both the outpatient and inpatient environment. Students will be expected to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the evaluation, medical, and surgical management of both common and complex problems of the musculoskeletal system. Sub-interns will be expected to participate in the care of their patients at the intern level, including a requirement for call at the frequency of the most junior resident on the service. The goal of this course is to prepare both students interested in both orthopedic surgery and primary care with the opportunity to experience the specialty in preparation for internship and residency.
